Ritchey Canyon Trail to Coyote Peak Loop

A hidden jewel right here in our Napa Valley! Just out of St. Helena, at Bothe State Park, we met at the park headquarters (not knowing that they were hosting a full and half marathon that morning!) and started our chilly walk up the trail through the camps and met up with the main trail. The hike was about 5.1 miles and about 95% under canopy. Beautiful pine and redwood trees, the smell of bay leaves, soft redwood and mulch ground that kept your feet nice and comfortable. We crossed over the rocky creeks and then..the hill, up, up and away until you loop around the back end of the Coyote Peak trail. This is a up and back portion of the trail that leads you to the most spectacular North East view of the Napa Valley, overlooking the area between upper St. Helena and lower Calistoga. check out the instagram here:
